Hiker Rescued From Rattlesnake Canyon After Suffering Possible Broken Leg

Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue, along with AMR and Santa Barbara County Fire personnel, rescued a 50-year-old woman from a Rattlesnake Canyon trail above Mission Canyon Saturday morning.

Santa Barbara County Fire Capt. Dave Zaniboni said the woman, who was not named, suffered a possibly broken leg during her hike up Rattlesnake Canyon just before 9 a.m.

County Fire personnel and the Search and Rescue crew hiked down to the woman’s location and loaded her into a stokes basket. She was then carried to an awaiting ambulance.

The 50-year-old hiker was transported to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.
