Three Santa Barbara Area Players are on Team USA Women’s Water Polo Team

Team USA Women’s Water Polo has plenty of Santa Barbara flavor to it as they go for back-to-back gold medals at the Olympics.

Kami Craig, who won silver in 2008 and gold in 2012, returns for her third Olympics. The center helped Santa Barbara High School to two CIF titles in water polo.

Goal keeper Sami Hill and attacker Kiley Neushul are making their Olympic debut in Rio.

They were high school teammates at Dos Pueblos where they captured three CIF crowns and Neushul added another one after Hill graduated.

Team USA is favored to win gold but faces some tough challenges especially from Australia.

The first game for the U.S. is on August 9 against Spain.
