Velvet Jones Remembers Prince At Tribute Party
People all over the world have been rocking out to Prince’s songs in his remembrance. And a special tribute of the legend continues Friday night at Velvet Jones in Santa Barbara.
DJ Darla Bea has been throwing themed events in Santa Barbara for over 8 years. Come Friday night she will be spinning Prince’s greatest hits and Minneapolis funk.
The Velvet Jones in Santa Barbara contacted DJ Bea to help put together a Prince tribute party. The free event will kickoff at 8 p.m.
“There will be a lot of music, and a lot of smoke and purple lights. We are also screening purple rain on the TV’s in here,” said Bea.
Ruben Zarate, the social media manager at Velvet Jones helped put the event together last minute.
“It’s good for the community to know how important Prince was to the 805 and that he has a huge fan base in the 805 from Oxnard all the way to SLO or where ever the 805 stops,” said Zarate.
It’s a night to come honor the life and music of man who moved so many with his talents and left the world too soon.
“I’m expecting die heart fans to come out and that’s what we want the real die hearts who appreciate it and who lived it and who felt moved by it,” said Zarate.
