Mrs. Olson’s Coffee Hut Finds New Home in Oxnard

Diners didn’t seem to mind the two hour wait to dine at Mrs. Olson’s Coffee Hut on Sunday.

The diner that lost its lease in Hollywood Beach last year re-opened in the Channel Islands Harbor Landing on Friday.

Paula and Tom “Brim” Brimigion bought the restaurant from the original Mrs. Olson’s in 2001.

She opened the restaurant more than four decades ago.

It used to be full of surfing photos taken by her kids.

After 9/11 the Brimigion added patriotic photos.

They hired Lisa Kelly to paint a mural of a surfer holding a flag in the new restaurant.

Diners can eat inside or outside and almost every seat has a harbor view.
