Sunday Night Fire Damages Northeast Santa Maria Home

A residential home in Santa Maria has been spared after a fire broke out Sunday evening.

The Santa Maria Fire department received multiple calls of a fire at a residence in the 1400 block of E. Lahr Lane after 8 p.m.

On arrival, firefighters found light smoke coming from the home and an active fire on the first floor of the house.

The fire spread, damaging the roof, attic, and parts of the second floor.

No one was hurt.

Monday morning, residents were seen cleaning up the leftover damage.

According to one of their family members, a pet cat which had gone missing shortly after the fire was found the same night in another section of the home.

The fire is currently under investigation and the cause is undetermined at this time.
