Morro Bay Man Who Leads Police On Wild Chase Appears In Court

Trevor Michael Crain, appeared for the first time in front of a Santa Barbara judge on Friday afternoon.

The Morro Bay man is accused of leading the California Highway Patrol on a high speed case Wednesday morning down the coast. The chase, span two counties, and started in Nipomo, ending in Goleta.

During the chase, he caused an accident involving a 66 year old, Lompoc man. As of Friday night is listed in stable condition at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.

Crain’s public defender stood in front of him the entire time he appeared before the judge trying to shield him from our cameras. He also did most of the speaking on Crain’s behalf as he stood behind of a glass window.

The judge set bail at one hundred thousand dollars, if he does not post it, he will appear in court again on Tuesday.
