Pooch Pods Give Your Dogs a New Way to Ride

A couple of dogs are raising money and showing off their new custom made carriers, which are now going main stream.

At a Salvation Army donation spot this afternoon in Santa Barbara, two festive Jack Russell Terriers wearing red Santa hats were inside Pooch Pods.

The inventor Ric “Swanky” Hovsepian says it was his way of giving his dogs a safer ride on a bike or motorcycle.
They come with a tether for safety.
But the dogs still get to enjoy putting their heads out in the wind.

” It’s the safest way they have lateral support it has the cute factor, we can color match the pod to your bike. We can do a vinyl wrap of a wicker look, and that kind of thing, ” said Hovsepian.

It is also quite the attention getter.

” If I had a dollar every time (I hear) ‘that’s the cutest thing I have ever seen’ we wouldn’t be doing any promotion. We are out here today raising money for the Salvation Army,” said Hovsepian near the red kettle where he was collecting donations.

The Pooch Pod is sold on line and manufactured in Oxnard.

They are also sold locally at Ooty’s Scooters in Santa Barbara.
