Fire Caused Late Night Freeway Closures
A small fire between the 101 and 126 freeways led to closures at the interchange in Ventura.
The California High Patrol confirmed the 101 was closed in both directions before 11 p.m. A detour was set up at Seward Avenue.
Witnesses said about an acre of palm trees and brush were burning.
It appears fire crews had the upper hand by midnight.
No evacuations were reported.
The cause of the fire is under invesigation.
