Ventura Man Facing String of Child Molestation Charges

Police have arrested a Ventura resident for allegedly having sex with a minor. Jonathan Burton, 24, now faces multiple child molestation charges.

Authorities say they contacted Burton after receiving a report of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor. Police located the victim who told them that Burton had used a social networking website to contact her and lure her into a sexual relationship.

Burton allegedly sent lewd photos to the victim as well as solicited lewd photos from her. He was taken into custody without incident Monday evening.

Detectives served a search warrant for Burton’s residence in an unincorporated area of Ventura and discovered evidence leading them to believe there may be more underage victims.

Burton was booked at Ventura County Jail and charged with: Unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor; Oral copulation with a minor; Penetration by a foreign object with a minor; Contacting a minor for sex; Luring a minor for lewd conduct; Sending harmful matter to a minor; and Possession of child pornography.
