UC Santa Barbara Students Studying Abroad In Paris Safe After Terror Attacks

UC Santa Barbara students studying at universities in Paris are safe and accounted for following the terror attacks.

Religious Studies professor Juan Campo is the director of the Education Abroad Program or EAP at UCSB.

He declined to disclose how many students are in Paris or which universities they are attending.

However, he said staff worked quickly to locate students amid the chaos.

“We were able to determine that everyone is fine. Nobody has been harmed in any way. We are very grateful for that. We give very up to date information to them and their families to make sure everyone is fully informed of what’s going on,” Campo said.

French schools are slated to be open on Monday. A minute of silence will be observed around noon.

Campo also noted there are several exchange students from Paris studying at UCSB.

A dozen students from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo studying in Paris have also been accounted for.
