Montecito Country Club Closes Golf Course for Renovations

The final swings have been swung at the Montecito Country Club golf course, for at least a year.

After years of planning, design and financing, the golf course has closed and renovations will begin soon.

The new design has been coordinated by golfing legend Jack Nicklaus.

The scenic course is below the main Montecito Country Club building with ocean views above Highway 101.

Once completed in 2017, the new course will have many water saving features, including recylced water and fewer acres for irrigation.

Plans are also in the works next year to remodel the main country club building.

The site is owned by Ty Warner, who also owns the San Ysidro Ranch, Four Seasons Biltmore and several other significant local properties.

The property is located in the City of Santa Barbara, even though it carries the Montecito name.
