Stolen Vehicle Suspects Arrested Over the Weekend
Two different suspects were arrested over the weekend after allegedly stealing vehicles in Santa Barbara.
On Saturday, Santa Barbara Police arrested an unidentified man on Via Diego after the owner of a vehicle reported it stolen. The keys were taken and the car was gone at about noon. Police were able to locate the vehicle by using a tracking device that was on board the car.
The vehicle was tracked down approximately one hour after it was reported stolen, and about a block away from the location the vehicle was taken according to police. Authorities added that it appears the suspect and victim knew each other in some capacity.

Law enforcement arrested 28-year-old Terrance Trout of Oxnard after leading them on a vehicle pursuit.
Police say that a truck stolen out of Santa Barbara was spotted in Ventura at about 6:30 p.m. Saturday. A stolen Ford F-150 was located in the area of Gonzales Road and Patterson Road in Oxnard. The suspect failed to yield to police and a chase ensued.
At one point, officers called off the chase out of safety concerns for the public. However, police were able to successful deploy a spike strip in the area of Channel Islands Boulevard and Ventura Road, which deflated two tires of the vehicle. The driver continued to flee from officers until he stopped his vehicle on Las Tunas at Yucca Street. The driver was then taken into custody.
