Police Arrest Stolen Car Suspect After Foot Pursuit in Paso Robles
A suspect believed to have stolen a vehicle was arrested in Paso Robles Thursday afternoon following a brief foot pursuit.
Paso Robles police took 31-year-old Daryl David Blair of San Miguel, into custody after he abandoned the vehicle he was driving along the 1700 block of Moon Valley Road and ran from officers.
Blair allegedly stole a 1969 General Motors pickup truck from a parking lot on the 2800 block of Riverside Avenue just after 12.30 p.m. in Paso Robles. The victim told police that he had parked the truck in the lot earlier that morning and when he returned a few hours later, the truck was gone.
At about 3 p.m., Paso Robles police received a call from the victim’s family to report they had just seen the stolen truck traveling east on Union Road. Officers located the truck and initiated a traffic stop. That’s when they said Blair abandoned the truck and ran from officers.
Officers also discovered drug paraphernalia on Blair, and was subsequently booked into San Luis Obispo County Jail on stolen vehicle and drug paraphernalia charges.
