Multiple Drug Arrests Linked to Santa Barbara High Speed Pursuit

Police have made multiple arrests in Los Angeles and Santa Barbara counties that are linked to an early morning high speed pursuit that ended at Coast Village Road near Montecito on June 16.

At that time, police arrested 35-year-old George Jolly of Hollywood at gunpoint after a brief manhunt.

During an inventory search of Jolly’s vehicle, the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office said its deputies discovered six pounds of methamphetamine, and one quarter pound of heroin with an estimated street value of more than $50,000. They also discovered cash, and drug paraphernalia

Jolly’s arrest led investigators to nine associates in Los Angeles and Santa Barbara counties.

“During the month of April 2015, the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Narcotics Unit learned of…George Jolly of Santa Barbara who was selling large amounts of Methamphetamine and heroin in the Santa Barbara area,” said Sheriff’s spokesperson Kelly Hoover. “An undercover detective was able to befriend Jolly and began purchasing narcotics from him, in addition to firearms, on several occasions.”

After Jolly’s June arrest, the investigation into his drug trafficking organization continued. The investigation involved multiple law enforcement agencies, which included the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department and the Santa Barbara Police Department.

On July 14, Authorities seized 23 pounds of meth, 5 pounds of heroin, 21 firearms, 8 vehicles, and an undisclosed amount of cash.

The Sheriff’s Office confirms that three of the individuals arrested were residents of Santa Barbara County.
