Fatal Motorcycle Accident on Highway 154 Near Santa Barbara

Authorities have identified 59-year-old Stephen Forrest of Goleta as the motorcycle rider killed last Sunday on state Route 154 just north of Foothill Road.

The California Highway Patrol first responded to the incident at about 3:51 p.m.

They said Forrest was traveling eastbound on Highway 154 when for unknown reasons, crossed over the double yellow lines and into the path of a 2015 Jeep Laredo, driven by Gerard Wilson, 33, traveling westbound.

Forrest was ejected from the motorcycle and sustained fatal injuries. Paramedics declared him dead at the scene.

Neither Wilson or his passenger suffered any injuries.

CHP shut down Highway 154 in both directions while investigators were on scene.

It’s unknown if drugs or alcohol were a contributing factor in the collision, but the incident continues to be investigated.
