San Luis Obispo to Consider Medical Marijuana Dispensary
Ethnobotanica, a medical cannabis industry presented it proposal for a medical marijuana dispensary in San Luis Obispo County.
Ethnobotanica’s Stephanie Kiel, said company is the oldest and largest medical marijuana delivery service on the Central Coast and they hope to open the frist brick-and-mortar dispensary in the county.
The South County Advisory Council heard from community members, security experts, and sheriff’s department representatives.
This is the fourth attempt to open a medical marijuana dispensary in San Luis Obispo County.
It’s been eight years since San Luis Obispo County adopted an ordinance that allowed medical marijuana dispensaries under specific conditions.
The board has rejected three proposals in the past, One in Templeton in 2008, the other in Nipomo in 2010, and one in Oceano in 2012.
The council will make a recommendation to the planning commission.
