King Tides Makes a Splash Along the Coast
Walking on a Montecito beach this morning was out of the question in many areas when the “King Tides” arrived. Waves were up and, in some cases, over the concrete wall in front of the Biltmore Hotel on Butterfly Beach.
The astronomical high tides will be around for a few days.
Without a storm, the impacts are not expected to be serious, but each beach is different. One area of concern is Hueneme Beach in Oxnard where there’s been high tide damage in the last year.
Many people came out to see the force of the ocean crashing along the coast, the wall along Channel Drive and by the Coral Casino.
