San Marcos Wins League Opener Versus Dons

Connor Everman scored seven seconds into the game for San Marcos and it went downhill from there for Santa Barbara. The Royals beat the Dons 60-50 in the Channel League opener for both teams.

Connor’s younger brother, junior Scott Everman scored 13 of his team-high 20 points in the first half as the Royals took a 34-16 lead into the locker room. Tyson Miller scored all 11 of his points before half as well as the Royals fed off of their big home crowd at the Thunderhut.

Bolden Brace tried to bring the Dons back but the Royals made him work hard for his game-high 22 points.

The Royals led by double-digits for practically the entire second half as they improve to 14-4 on the year. They also beat Santa Barbara two days before Christmas in the championship game of the Carpinteria Cage Classic.

The Dons are 16-4 on the year.
