Ramp Work Around Freeways to Help Pedestrians

Several projects are underway to improve pedestrians access, and sidewalks near freeways.

Crews are working in several locations.

Among the improvements, they are opening up sidewalks that currently do not have ramps for wheelchair accessibility.

A large project is underway where Castillo St, Haley St, and Highway 101 meet in Santa Barbara. Several curb cuts and improvements are necessary in the unique intersection.

Other projects taking place include the intersection of Santa Monica Rd. and Via Real, in Carpinteria.
