Celery Box Truck Crash In Ventura

Ventura Police officers are investigating a celery truck that crashed in Ventura on Wednesday. The accident happened just after 2 p.m. on the 2400 block of Harbor Boulevard.

Police said the semi-tractor trailer rolled over. The driver of the single vehicle semi-tractor trailer was traveling eastbound on Harbor Blvd. and could not negotiate a turn in the roadway.

The driver of the truck lost control, which caused the semi-tracker to roll onto its side and slid into a light pole.

The 60,000 pound truck was loaded with empty celery boxes, which spilled out onto the roadway.

Because of the accident both the eastbound lanes and one westbound lane of Harbor Blvd. will be closed for over an hour and a half while employees of the trucking company clean up the scene and the vehicle is removed by tow trucks.

Southern California Edison also responded to repair the downed light pole. No one was injured as a result of the accident.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
