SB Boys Soccer Defeats San Marcos
Jorge Garcia-Torres had a goal and an assist as Santa Barbara used a solid first half to beat San Marcos 3-1 in the Channel League opener for both teams in boys soccer.
Trailing 2-0 at half, San Marcos scored in the 56th minute when Kevin Guzman’s shot was deflected into the net by a Dons defender.
But the Dons ended any hopes of a Royals comeback in the 70th minute as Carlos Rodriguez scored when the San Marcos keeper was out of the net after a scramble for the ball.
Prior to the boys game, San Marcos shut out Santa Barbara 1-0 in girls soccer in the league opener for both.
