Boy Scouts “Perversion Files” Could Be Used As Evidence
The so-called Boy Scouts “perversion files” could be used as evidence in an upcoming case this month, a Santa Barbara County judge ruled Friday.
The files have never been seen before, and Friday’s ruling could be the first step to making them public.
This month’s case involves a 13 year-old-boy who claims a scout leader molested him back in 2007.
Tim Hale, the lawyer for the victim filing the lawsuit, believes the files, which date from 1991 to 2007 contain evidence of sex abuse within the Scouts organization.
Files dating back to the 1960s were already made public in other court cases.
