Royals Edge Rio Mesa

It didn’t look pretty on the court but it looks great in the standings. San Marcos held off Rio Mesa 39-36 to improve to 12-4 in boys high school basketball.

On a night when both teams struggled with shooting and turnovers, Ryan McCarthy scored 12 points for San Marcos.

The Royals beat Rio Mesa 57-48 in December in the Carpinteria Tournament.
