Frontier Airlines Leaves Santa Barbara

Frontier Airlines begins the new year with air service changes including a cut in flights to Denver out of Santa Barbara.

The announcement does not come as a surprise. Notification was made to airport officials last year.

The cut may only be temporary. Frontier officials have said service may be restored in May, but that decision has yet to be made.

Frontier’s departure leaves United Airlines as the only carrier going direct to Denver from Santa Barbara. United has been flying out of Santa Barbara since 1936 when commercial service began.

The final Frontier flight will be Tuesday afternoon with a 2:44 p.m. arrival and a 3:25 p.m. departure.
