Toy Plane Plucked From Tree After Dad Shows Son How to Fly it
Jaime Herrera has friends in high places, and it helped to save his son’s new toy aircraft after the Christmas present got stuck in a tall tree.
The Santa Barbara dad was showing his son how to use the remote control plane when it went high and off course into the trees near Cathedral Oaks Road.
Fortunately he knows David Elliot who is a tree trimmer and not afraid to swing like Tarzan through branches.
Using a cleverly designed rope system, Elliot hoisted himself up and made his way into the branches of a eucalyptus tree to grab the plane. It was returned to Herrera’s son in good shape.
It’s unclear if Jaime will ever get to use the controls again.
