No Signs of Foul Play in Death of Los Osos Woman
Nine days after the body of 27-year-old Margay Edwards was discovered about 1/4 mile into the Nevada desert in late September, Nye County Sheriff’s investigators located her missing car in a ravine several miles from where her body was found.
Based on the evidence at the scene, investigators said there is no foul play in the death of the 27-year-old.
According to investigators, they found the vehicle to be locked with Edwards’ property inside, including clothing, a purse with two cell phones, and a MacBook Pro laptop. They said the only set of footprints in the area were walking in the direction of where Edwards’ body was found.
“Based on the size of the footprints leaving the scene, it was determined that they were the proper size matching Margay Edwards shoe size,” said detectives. “Both autopsies from the Clark County Coroner’s Office and UNT (University of North Texas) proved no sings of any criminality were present.”
Investigators added that “whatever caused Margay Edwards to collapse and die where she was found could not be positively determined.”
The body of Margay Edwards was released to the family on December 9th.
