A 50-year-old man is recovering after a shark attacked him at Montaa De Oro State Beach in San Luis Obispo County.
The Morro Bay resident was surfing with at least a dozen other surfers on Sunday around 11 a.m. when the shark bit into his hip.
The shark is believed to be an 8-to 10-foot juvenile great white shark.
The man was flown to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center in San Luis Obispo with non-life-threatening injuries.
State Parks officials say they are not closing the beach but are warning people to enter at their own risk.
