Paso Robles Woman, Child Sent To Hospital After Iced Road Crash

A Paso Robles woman suffered major injuries in a Monday morning car crash at Adelaida Road about a mile south of Nacimiento Lake Road. The accident also sent a 10-year-old girl to the hospital with minor injuries.

The accident happened just after 10:30 a.m.

The California Highway Patrol identified 34-year-old Ramona Pinedo as the driver of a 2002 Ford F-150.

According to CHP, Pinedo was travelling sounthbound on Adelaida Road at about 45 MPH. Pinedo lost control of her pickup as she entered into a slight curve on a roadway that was iced over from earlier in the morning.

The pickup then hit several steel fence poles along the driver’s side door before coming to a rest on its wheels in a field.

CHP said Pinedo suffered blunt force trauma. Everyone was wearing their seat belts at the time of the accident.

Both, Pinedo and the child were transported to Sierra Vista Hospital in San Luis Obispo for treatment.

Neither alcohol or drugs appear to have contributed to the crash.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
