Old Mission Welcomes Hundreds At Holiday Masses

People lined up to attend Masses on Christmas Eve at St. Barbara Parish at the Old Mission Santa Barbara.

The Old Mission bells rang to remind people that mass would soon begin again and again.

Christmas Eve masses were held at 4 p.m and 7 p.m. prior to Midnight Mass.

Programs entitled Christmas The Nativity of Our Lord were handed out.

There are more than 400 seats inside the historic Mission.

The Parish Choir and Mission Brass Quartet performed Silent Night and more.

Pastor Charles Talley said, “We understand the meaning and beauty of Christmas is in of our hearts regardless of our faith, tradition or spiritual path. Christmas has something for everyone.”

Christmas Day Masses will be held at 7:30 a.m., 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.

A living Nativity is also on display for visitors to enjoy.
