Melgoza Lighting Up Scoreboard

Amber Melgoza is the most improved player on the Santa Barbara girls varsity basketball team this season. That’s saying plenty because as a sophomore last year, the 5’10 Melgoza scored over 22 points per game and led the Dons to the Division III State Championship game.

The Dons are off to a 7-0 start and Melgoza is lighting up the scoreboard. She has already had games of 34, 37, 42 and 45 points. The 45 points tied Holly Ford’s school-record.

Santa Barbara hosts Camarillo on Wednesday.
