KCOY 12, Fox 11 Now On-The-Air in Santa Barbara
The installation of a brand new digital transmitter means television viewers in southern Santa Barbara County can now see the over-the-air signals of KCOY 12 and Fox 11.
The transmitter went live Wednesday afternoon, bringing an over-the-air signal for both stations to the south coast.
The transmitter is licensed as KSBB, which is now digital channel 17. KCOY 12 programming can be seen in High Definition on channel 17.1. Fox 11 programming can be seen on digital channel 17.2. Viewers who watch over-the-air television in the Santa Barbara area can re-scan their sets to see the new signal.
Previously, KSBB broadcast an analog signal of KEYT 3.
In the coming weeks, an analog transmitter carrying Fox 11 programming on Channel 24 in San Luis Obispo County will be upgraded to digital. When that work is completed, Fox 11 and KCOY 12 will be seen on a digital signal over-the-air across much of San Luis Obispo County.
KEYT 3 went live with an over-the-air digital signal in San Luis Obispo County in December, 2012.
