Warming Shelters Stay Open for Weather Protection

Freedom Warming Shelters across Santa Barbara County have been activated for December 16 and 17 because of the rain.

Good Samaritan Services is operating the Santa Maria and Lompoc locations again.

This year, they’re partnering with The Salvation Army on Cook St. to help with the influx of people.

Warming centers open at 6pm where people can have a warm dinner, a place to sleep and a brown bag lunch for the next day.

The following shelters are open in Santa Barbara County:

Note: shuttle service from Unitarian Society beginning at 6:00PM

Veterans Memorial Hall

Carpinteria, CA 93013

University United Methodist Church
892 Camino Del Sur
Isla Vista, CA 93117

Peace Lutheran
1000 W. Ocean Ave
Lompoc, CA 93436

Salvation Army
200 W. Cook St
Santa Maria, CA 93454

First Congregational Church
Church of the Beatitudes
2101 State Street
Santa Barbara, CA 93101
TIME: 7:00pm-6:00am
