Firefighters Transition From High To Low Fire Danger

Santa Barbara City Battalion Chief James McCoy said rainy weather has reduced the danger from fire, but hasn’t lessened the work load.

McCoy said the fire department will now send two engines rather than three if there is a suspected brush fire, unless more are needed.

Firefighters said fire season is still a year-round affair, but their calls change in the fall and winter.

Home fires caused by heating and holiday decorations are more likely this time of year.
