Tractor Runs Over Man in Agricultural Field Near Lompoc
Santa Barbara County Fire said an industrial tractor-trailer struck a 40-year-old man in an agricultural field on West Ocean Avenue and Floradale Avenue just outside the City of Lompoc Monday afternoon.
The traffic accident happened just after 3:30 p.m.
Mike Eliason with the Santa Barbara County Fire department said it appears the tractor-trailer ran over the man while he picked lettuce at the agricultural field.
The man was transported to Cottage Hospital with major injuries to his upper body.
Cal OSHA, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, will be investigating the incident.
