Philanthropist Leni Fe Bland Passes Away

Santa Barbara Philanthropist Leni Fe Bland died Sunday afternoon at the age of 99.

She would have turned 100 years old on January 10, 2015.

Fe Bland helped many local charities and organizations. She donated millions of dollars to the UCSB Arts and Lectures, co-founded the State Street Ballet and financially supported the Music Academy of the West, the Santa Barbara Symphony, Casa Esperanza, The Grenada, CAMA and many more.

The Santa Barbara Foundation building is named after her.

Those who knew her well said all she wanted was to make the world a better place.
