San Luis Obispo Teen to Appear on ABCs ‘Shark Tank’

A San Luis Obispo teen is jumping into the ” Shark Tank,” the ABC Friday night show that is.

Andrea Cao, 13, will be on national television Friday night makes a sales pitch she hopes will boost her young startup company.

Anderea of San Luis Obispo, knows confidence and making a strong sales pitch will convince the “Shark Tank” millionaires.

“I go door to door selling them,” Andrea told the investors of the Shark Tank.

Andrea’s product is a personal acupressure system called Q-Flex.

“It (her product) actually feels pretty good,” said Mark Cuban, businessman, investor and owner of NBA’s Dallas Mackericks.

She makes the product with help from family members inside her Central Coast home.

Andrea said it all started because of her mother.

“My mom is an RN and she would have to work almost 12-hour shifts every single day. When she would come home she would feel so sore and basically would beg for me to massage her back for her.”

“I had homework to do, I had pets to feed so I went to her (mom) and said can we make something for this,” Andrea said.

Andrea said she made up her pitch, but once she found out she would be on the show, the producers helped her create the perfect pitch for the ‘sharks.’

Businessman and investor Robert Herjavec, of the “Shark Tank,” jokingly told Andrea, “I don’t believe you’re 13.”

Andrea said, “It was a really amazing experience, it was nerve racking but it was breathtaking at the same time. Aonce in a lifetime opportunity.”

“SharkTank” airs on ABC Friday at 9 p.m.
