Runners Brave Elements

On a night when most people would rather sit by a fire, dozens of people ran a mile in the rain.

Fitness guru Jenny Schatzle encouraged dozens of people to run to raise money for the nonprofit Unity Shoppe.

People of all ages wore rain gear and running shoes.

Celebrity chef Cat Cora and her son took part. Cora said she was supposed to be home making homemade marshmallows. Cora started working out with Schatzle a year ago and said it has greatly improved her health and fitness. Her son, however said he had no problem beating her.

The run ended at the French Press where the group enjoyed free hot chocolate.

The donations made during the run will be given to the Unity Shoppe during the annual telethon on KEYT NewsChannel 3 this Saturday.
