Gauchos Flat Against San Diego

Johnny Dee scored 22 points and Christopher Anderson added 17 as San Diego defeated UC Santa Barbara 79-65 on Thursday night.

The Toreros (5-5) led 41-26 at the half but wouldn’t let the Gauchos (4-5) get closer than seven in the second half by being clutch at the foul line.

San Diego finished 27 of 32 from the line – 19 of 22 in the second half. The Toreros scored their last 17 points from the foul line, hitting their last 14 in a row, including eight in the final minute.

Alan Williams led Santa Barbara with 18 points, with Gabe Vincent and Michael Bryson adding 13 apiece. Williams and John Green, who had 10 points, both had eight rebounds.

Dee, who moved into second on the San Diego career scoring list with 1,727 points, also had six rebounds and Anderson had six assists.
