Santa Barbara County & Paso Robles Offers Sand For Local Flooding

The Public Works Departments in Santa Barbara County and in Paso Robles are concerned about potential local flooding due to heavy rain expected Thursday night and Friday.

Forecasts from the First Alert Weather Team indicate rain totals of more than 2 inches in less than 12 hours.

To deal with that level of rainfall, the city and county are offering free sand to those who might want to fill up sandbags to ward off water around their home or property. Anyone who wants the sand must bring their own bags and shovel.

The sand pile is located behind the city yard at 1220 Paso Robles Street.
