Lompoc City Fire Storm Preparations

Lompoc City Fire Department news release:

The City of Lompoc is preparing for a strong winter storm with high winds, beginning Thursday evening through Friday, meteorologists are predicting gusts up to 45 mph and 1-2″ of rainfall.

The City Team is standing ready to respond to protect life and property with extra resources on standby. If you’ve experienced a level of flooding in the past that you expect seeing again, consider purchasing sandbags at Home Depot, Aceco, or Valley Rock and take necessary precautions to guard against flooding.

Sandbags can be filled at JM Park, located at the
corner of E. Chestnut and A Street. Citizens wishing to fill sand bags at JM Park will need to bring a shovel and bags.
In the event flooding is threatening your home or business that you cannot address, call 911.

Be aware of gusty winds while driving. Strong winds may down trees and power lines and cause property damage. Report mud flows and any power lines or trees that are down to the Lompoc Police Department at 736-2341.
