Man Arrested for Santa Barbara Gas Station Robbery

Santa Barbara police arrested a suspect Tuesday evening following an armed robbery at a Union 76 gasoline station in the 1800 block of State Street.

Noozhawk reported a 26-year-old man was arrested for robbing the station at gunpoint. The news website reported the suspect was from Santa Barbara and had a prior criminal record. A backpack with cash and an “airsoft” gun was recovered.

Some witnesses had reported the robbery was committed with a Beretta-style gun. Some airsoft guns are made to look like that type of weapon.

No injuries were reported during the incident.
