Santa Maria Celebrates Day of the Farm Worker

Santa Maria is home to 55% of Santa Barbara County’s Farm-Worker population and on Sunday, 40 community organizers came together to appreciate them for Day of the Farmer.

Farm workers were offered free clothing, health screenings and information on legal and educational services.

The annual celebration at Fairpark is sponsored by the Migrant Education Program which serves more than 5,000 migrant children and young adults in Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Counties.
