Mountain Lion Sighting in San Luis Obispo Over Weekend
Police are warning the public about a mountain lion sighting Sunday near an elementary school in San Luis Obispo.
The animal was spotted in the backyard of a home in the 300-block of Los Cerros Drive, which is close to Bishop’s Peak Elementary School.
The mountain lion ran off after being spooked by a neighborhood dog and was last seen making its way toward Bishop’s Peak Sunday.
If you see the animal, police advise you to stay calm and back away slowly, but do not turn your back or run.
