Possible Serial Burglar in Nipomo Arrested

38 year old Brett Douglass was arrested Thursday morning by the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Department at his home on Archer Way in the Black Lake Mobile Estates park near Pomeroy Road in Nipomo.

The Sheriff’s Department says they were led to Douglass after he was captured by surveillance camera video in his car near a residential burglary last weekend on Olympic Way, also off Pomeroy Road.

The Sheriff’s Department says a search of Douglass’ home and car turned up the stolen property from the Olympic Way burglary on November 28, along with a gun fitted with an illegal silencer and other stolen property including computer laptops, cell phones, watches and tools.

Douglass is on felony probation for a drug-related conviction, according to the Sheriff’s Department, and may be associated with other burglaries in the area.

He was booked into San Luis Obispo County Jail on a first degree burglary charge and being a felon in possession of a firearm, his bail was set at $50,000.
