Bomb Threat at Lompoc Shopping Center

Lompoc Police has confirmed that there was a bomb threat in place at the Albertsons in a Lompoc shopping center on 1500 North H Street just after 1:30 p.m Thursday.

Lompoc Police told our newsroom that every entrance and exit was blocked and that Santa Barbara County Sheriff K9 units were requested at the scene.

Customers and employees were allowed back in the store at 3:10 p.m.

Investigators said the threat was called into the Albertsons store by phone. That’s when management decided to evacuate the store and call police. Neighboring businesses were also evacuated.

Bomb sniffing dogs and the bomb squad from Vandenberg were used but did not find anything suspicious.

The bomb threat call is being investigated as criminal activity.
