Arrests Made in Santa Barbara County Mail Theft Ring Case

Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s deputies have arrested 25-year-old Sireena Dominguez of New Cuyama, and 25-year-old Ashley Barnett of Santa Maria after a lengthy, and still ongoing, investigation.

Sheriff’s detectives located the pair in a ranch outside the rural town of Cuyama on Wednesday, December 3rd.

The Sheriff’s office have been investigating a mail theft ring in Santa Barbara County since late November. Detectives identified Dominguez and Barnett as the primary suspects in the case after investigators say the pair stole from a hotel they were staying at in Buellton.

Sheriff’s Detectives also said Dominguez and Barnett allegedly stole credit card information.

Dominguez was charged with felony forgery, and bail was set to $25,000. Barnett was charged with felony criminal conspiracy and her bail was set to $100,000.

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department is not releasing any more details at this time due to the ongoing investigation of this case.
