Two Hour Power Outage Darkens Early Black Friday Openings

The lights went out an hour and 20 minutes after Best Buy’s 5 p.m. opening on Thanksgiving.

Customers who said they sacrificed dinner with their families to line up for the early opening to get deals were disappointed.

Some got back in line and waited, but the outage continued.

Movies were interrupted too. But moviegoers said they got rain checks to return another day.

There are unconfirmed reports that a blown transformer was to blame.

Power was restored around 8 p.m.
