Vigil Held For Kidnapped Guerrero Students

More than a hundred people gathered for a candlelight vigil outside the Goleta Valley Community Center on Thursday night.

They are trying to call attention to the 43 students kidnapped from a teaching college in Guerrero, Mexico, two months ago. Human rights activists have accused corrupt police of kidnapping the 43 young men and handing them over to a gang dealing drugs.

Activists placed photos of every student in the center of the gathering.

They also watched Aztec dancers perform.

The vigil coincided with the anniversary of the Mexican Revolution.

A similar event will be held in 43 cities on Dec. 3.
