School Bus Plows Through Traffic In Goleta

A school bus accident in Goleta at the Patterson exit off-ramp is being investigated by the California Highway Patrol.

Sources tell NewsChannel 3 the bus was exiting HIghway 101 and never slowed down when approaching the light at the top of the overpass. Witnesses say the bus t-boned several cars. One person was transported to Cottage Hospital with major injuries after the bus hit their car.

Traffic on Patterson was backed up for miles and the 101 southbound on-ramp was closed during the investigation.

Authorities say one student and the bus driver were on the bus at the time of accident. The student was picked by his parents. No one on the bus was injured.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
