There’s a Creepy Feeling in the Santa Ynez Valley with Tarantulas on the Move

Tarantulas are crawling around the Santa Ynez Valley again this time of year, and some residents have been caught off guard.

Photos sent to NewsChannel 3 shows the hairy legged critters in several locations, including hiking trails, roadways, and golf courses.

The local tarantulas are not considered deadly, and a bite causes an irritation in most cases.

They are on the move with the males searching for a mating partner this time of year.

Often they end up in some abandoned holes left behind by other animals including gophers.
